Our first Month
Who would have ever thought that so many things can happen in 6 months! We certainly did not anticipate the turn of events that could bring about the beginning of something brand new and very exciting. Sometimes misfortune can develop into an opportunity. Although this is not the start we wanted, we have been extremely blessed with the support from so many people. When we decided to start Clever Kids Learning Hub we never imagined that within a 3 week period, so much could be done. Painting, packing, unpacking, building a jungle gym, clearing a garden, buying furniture, appointing staff and signing a lease for a photocopier! Something that is vital in any teaching environment 😉
“We love having our own space”
Since the beginning of June we have been busy upgrading Clever Kids Learning Hub’s environment. We began by laying the floor, painting the walls, adding our indoor grass patch and putting up blinds. We have been very blessed with an amazing Interior Designer who has put together a breath-taking design for the Hub. Our dream is beginning to be realised and as each section is complete we would love you to come and see.
Another one of our ambitions is to teach the children about healthy eating. This begins with the food we choose to eat and where we get it from. Jules Beeton has very kindly given of her time and resources to start an organic garden. The children have immensely enjoyed digging and planting and laying the compost. Cape Town’s recent rains have also helped to keep it all watered. Hopefully we will all be enjoying the fruits of their labour during the third term.

CANTEEN HELP NEEDED
After a month with us we have sadly had to say farewell to Erminia Vitalli who was running our tuckshop. She was offered an amazing opportunity with the International School of Cape Town to set up and run their canteen. We wish her all the best in her new venture!
We are looking for someone to come in and take over this role with us. Our vision includes the provision of healthy food to keep the children sustained and able to concentrate on their tasks and work. If anyone has any ideas or knows anyone who would be interested in helping us provide this please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org
